Robert F. Haverly, M.D.,F.A.C.S. is a study investigator for several national clinical research trials. One such study involves iris pigmentary changes associated with glaucoma medications. Patients can qualify for complimentary medications if they are candidates for this study. Dr. Haverly also is involved with studying the trabecular meshwork of patients that have undergone a trabeculectomy (filtering surgery for glaucoma) to better understand the pathogenesis of glaucoma, and how glaucoma medications affect this area in the eye.
Dr. Haverly is the principle investigator for numerous clinical research trials. FDA studies have been done and are currently ongoing for different types of glaucoma eye drops and combination eye drops. The purpose of these studies is to help find new and better medication for patients. Dr.Haverly has also conducted studies to help cataract patients recover faster and with less pain and discomfort.
